About Tastee Diner
The original Tastee Diner was established in the Washington, DC area in 1935. Today, there are two Tastee Diner locations in Maryland: Bethesda and Laurel. Each serves a wide variety of authentic American food. Both locations are open daily, 6:00 am – 10:00 pm.
The Montgomery County Council declared the Silver Spring Tastee Diner an historic landmark in 1994. It received national attention on June 17, 2000, when the owner, Mr. Gene Wilkes, moved the dining car from its original location on Georgia Avenue to its new site on Cameron Street to make way for construction by Discovery Communications.
